Baylor College of Medicine: Creative Leadership Across Print, Digital, and Brand Systems
As a Senior Graphic Designer at Baylor College of Medicine, I led the development of an extensive portfolio that spanned digital campaigns, print materials, custom t-shirts, and large-scale event graphics. I played a key role in elevating brand consistency by overhauling the existing brand guide and translating it into an interactive digital format. My work supported cross-functional teams and high-impact initiatives, demonstrating both creative leadership and strategic thinking.
The stat book I designed with the team at the Office of Accreditation and Education Effectiveness won First Place for Best Print Report at the 2024 Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR) conference. This award-winning piece combined modern design with creative data visualization to make complex information both clear and compelling while keeping within Baylor College of Medicine’s brand.
I designed a sleek, modern booklet for the VA as a follow-up to a previous project they loved, maintaining the same clean aesthetic to ensure brand consistency. The piece featured custom graphics and iconography throughout, tailored to the content while enhancing readability and visual appeal. As a repeat client, the VA appreciated the cohesive design approach and attention to detail that aligned seamlessly with their communication goals.
I designed a series of “5 Fast Facts” posters, each spotlighting a different endangered species from the Galápagos Islands, for a fundraising event hosted by Baylor College of Medicine in support of the Galápagos Conservation Trust. The posters combined bold visuals with concise, engaging facts to educate and spark interest among attendees, creating an eye-catching and informative display that aligned with the event’s conservation mission.
These are just a few posters I designed for Baylor College of Medicine stakeholders, displayed across campus. Each poster featured a distinct design style, showcasing my versatility and ability to tailor visuals to both client needs and target audiences. This work highlighted the importance of understanding the message and its audience to create effective, impactful designs.
The redesigned BCM School of Medicine Orientation program, held at both the Main Campus in Houston and the Temple campus, features a clean, modern layout that enhances clarity and engagement. This updated print booklet offers a streamlined schedule, highlights key events like student panels and campus tours, and reflects a welcoming, professional tone to help new students feel informed and connected.
I designed this tri-fold brochure for the Aesthetics Team at Baylor Medicine with a deliberate shift away from the typical clinical, modern look. Instead of clean lines and sterile tones, I opted for a softer, more inviting aesthetic that reflects the beauty and wellness focus of the services offered. The layout and color palette were carefully chosen to evoke a sense of calm, sophistication, and approachability, aligning with the team’s mission to provide personalized, confidence-boosting care.
This set of three pull-up banners, designed for the Department of Endocrinology at the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, features a modern, clean aesthetic with a cohesive layout that spans across all three panels to form one unified display. The design emphasizes clarity and professionalism, using consistent color, typography, and imagery to highlight the department’s mission and services. Positioned prominently in the center, the banners create an eye-catching and informative presence for patients and visitors alike.
This Instagram carousel ad for the Baylor Medicine Spine Center features the director sharing “5 Tips for Spine Health” in a fun, refreshing, and informative way. Custom illustrations bring each tip to life, balancing approachability with expert insight to help followers connect and take away practical advice.
As the designer behind this diverse set of social media ads for Baylor Medicine, I tailored each piece to fit its audience—from clean, professional designs for Orthopedics and Vascular to a warm, friendly look for Family Medicine. I also created a bold, high-energy campaign in partnership with Houston’s rugby team, the Sabercats, all while maintaining a cohesive brand presence.
I designed a collection of t-shirts to refresh the Baylor College of Medicine Teamshop catalog, incorporating fun, relatable pop culture references from recent years and the past few decades. The collection also includes modern, refreshed takes on classic college t-shirt designs, offering a fresh and engaging selection for students, staff, and alumni.
I designed a series of rotating web banners for the BCM Team Shop to promote the refreshed t-shirt collection, with each banner highlighting a different theme—pop culture, Space City, and vintage. I created the designs, mockups, and wrote all accompanying copy, ensuring each banner was visually distinct to drive interest and engagement across the site.
I designed the collateral for the "Happy Friday" campaign to promote a fundraising t-shirt benefiting The Grab, Baylor College of Medicine’s student food pantry program. The set included a t-shirt, a campus flyer, and an on-screen ad featured on digital screens across campus. The design was dynamic, fun, and attention-grabbing, incorporating the image of the dean on a laptop, where he’s known to say "Happy Friday" in his weekly videos. This playful approach helped create a relatable, memorable connection with students while supporting a great cause.
I designed the complete look and feel of the latest Baylor Medicine booth at the Houston Rodeo, creating a cohesive and eye-catching presence. This included a custom logo, a bold 20-foot backdrop, themed t-shirts for volunteers and giveaways, and digital signage showcasing our doctors, specialties, and clinics. The design blended Baylor’s professional identity with the vibrant, approachable spirit of the Rodeo to connect with the community and boost brand visibility.
